Memorable moments, experiences
I joined ICB in January, 1988 when Sir Iqbal Ahmad Khan was the Principal while Sir Subhanullah and Sir Jan e Alam were Vice Principals. I served at ICB in two phases, first as lecturer, Pakistan Studies from 1988 to 2004 & then again from 2013 to 2021 as Vice Principal. In total, I served ICB for 24 years out of my total service of 35 years.
I am proud to have worked under iconic Principals like Sir Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Sir Shahid Shamsi, Sir Irshad Muhammad Khan and Sir Subhanullah. I learnt a lot from these great personalities and this learning helped me a lot when I myself became Principal of IMCB I-8/3.

I have a lot of memories associated with my 24 years stay at ICB and would like to share a few. In 1991, I witnessed celebration of ICB Silver Jubilee. I am proud to write that I was the youngest staff member included in the Organising committee. I contributed a lot in making Celebrations a success. Silver jubilee Celebrations started with a Photo Exhibition, organised by own myself, inaugurated by the then Education Minister Syed Fakhr Imam. The photo exhibition titled as ” 25 Years of ICB” was unique in the sense that it showed history of ICB in pictures.
Same year, I revived ICB Hiking Club and made it one of the best and very active student Club with the aim of promoting healthy outdoor activities among ICBians. Later, it was renamed as ICB Adventure Club to broaden its scope of activities. During 1990s it became famous at national level bringing laurels to ICB.
ICB Hiking/ Adventure Club not only provided ICBians opportunities to take part in hiking, trekking, camping, skiing, sailing, martial arts etc but also engaged them in Environmental projects of national significance.
I also remained in charge of ICB photography from 1991 to 2004, and in that capacity, arranged a photo archive to keep a proper record of what was happening at ICB at that time. After passing of 25-30 years, my taken pictures have become gold now for those who still cherish memories of their school/college days at ICB.
My message to our dear youngsters is that while you are about to embark on life’s journey, remember to embrace continuous learning, cultivate resilience, pursue your passions, and build meaningful relationships.
