Sohail Ghani is a distinguished Interventional Cardiologist and a proud alumnus of Islamabad College for Boys (ICB). He studied at ICB from Grade 6 to 12, completing his SSC in 1989, and cherishes the invaluable experiences that shaped his personal and professional journey.
He fondly remembers the mentorship of his esteemed teachers, including Sir Saghir (English), Sir Shabi ul Hassan Zaidi (Math), and many others who played a vital role in his academic and personal development.
His time at ICB was filled with unforgettable moments, from bunking classes to Siraj Covered Market with friends to playing cricket for Iqbal House. He recalls the discipline and camaraderie instilled through PT sessions with Late Bashir Sb, the joy of enjoying Bun Samosa and Coca-Cola for just 1 rupee and 50 cents, and the inevitable frog jump punishments in the basketball court by Sir Wajid Nawaz and Sir Tanveer Chaudhary. He also remembers receiving cane punishments from Principal Iqbal Ahmed Sb and the kindness of Vice Principal Subhanallah Sb, who was known for his soft-spoken nature.
To the younger generation setting out on their own paths, he shares an inspiring message:
“Make a goal and stick to it. Take out your fears of failure from your mind and always respect your teachers because what I am today is because of my wonderful teachers.”
